My Story

Originally from Huntsville, Ontario, I moved to the Cayman Islands in 1997 with my (now) husband, Bill.  There, I pursued a career that took me several amazing places:  sales director at a corporate hotel, marketing on both agency side and in-house and then to founding my own marketing and creative agency that I ran for 10 years.  I was heavily involved in not-for-profits, financial services, tourism, medicine and public sector public relations.

In 2022, I made the tough decision to close my successful shop in order to thru-hike the Pacific Crest Trail.  I realized it didn't fit me to be an absentee owner/manager and that life was calling me to do bigger and bolder things.  I spent six and a half months hiking the alpine backcountry of the United States, 2,600 miles from Mexico to Canada, in what was the first stage of a new life, and honestly, a new me.

After the hike, we packed up our fur family of two dogs and two cats and moved back to Ontario.  I completed my professional training as a coach and picked up my heart's true calling:  writing literary fiction.

Looking back, I was the creative person trying to fit into a corporate model.  I understand how it feels to not see things the same way that others do.  I understand what it is like to feel the strong desire for a creative life, but not believing that it would work out, or that I could sustain myself in it.  I understand what it is like to make significant, transformative changes in life and to feel lost and directionless at times.  I understand what it feels like to deeply question and to get answers that are uncomfortable.

They say that to really understand the amazing impact coaching can have on your life, you really must experience it.  A few short years ago, I was a strong skeptic of coaching, but having been through the process, I am convinced that while we are all creative, resourceful and whole, it takes a partnership with someone who knows how to put judgement aside, doesn't offer advice and can see the things that you say and do, to help you see through the well-established thoughts that while perhaps well-intended, may no longer serve us.

If you know you can do more, do it better and with more happiness and contentment, but are not sure where to start, let's talk.  It might be a conversation that changes your life.
